Eastern Province Kings u21 to face Griffons

The Eastern Province Kings u21 team that will take on the Griffons u21 in Welkom on Saturday afternoon has been announced.

EP Kings u21 Head Coach, Ryan Felixannounced just one change to the starting line up from the team that defeated the Valke 42 to 22 last week Saturday in Kempton Park.

Felix said he was positive that the team were capable of putting on a better performance than they did against the Valke.

“I don’t think that the team performed to their best ability on the day, despite the score, there were areas we need to work on,” he said.

Felix said the team had focused on their set piece this week, specifically focusing on their breakdown and scrumming, where they had been assisted by SARU Kings Academy Manager Robbi Kempson.

“We have also focused on our defensive work, specifically on tackling and stopping the opposition from gaining momentum,” he said.

Felix said there was only change to the starting line up, with Stephan Zaayman being replaced by Claude Tshidibi, who comes up from the bench. Zaayman is out following an injury he sustained during the match last week.

Abongile Mnyaka  is the only new addition to the team, taking Tshidibi’s spot on the bench.
