Convincing win for U19s in Potch

Eastern Province outscored the Leopards six tries to four to record their second consecutive win in the ABSA Under-19 competition in Potchefstroom this past Saturday.

Eastern Province's eighthman Junior Pokomela, centre Jeremy Ward and fullback Mabhutana Peter scored the first half tries while Jordan Koekemoer and James Hall added a conversion each as the visitors took a nineteen point lead at the break, 19 - 0.

At the start of the second half, Eastern Province added a further two tries and a penalty before the Leopards outside centre Wilbre Gunter scored their first try, the conversion was missed as they trailed 36 - 5 in the fifty first minute.

Openside flank Hayden Tharratt scored Eastern Province's sixth try as EP took a 41 - 5 lead after a missed conversion from Hall.

The Leopards scored three unanswered tries in the final ten minutes, James Engelbrecht and Siyabonga Masuku added a conversion each as the match ended 41 - 24 in favour of the visitors.

Eastern Province's next match is on Saturday against Western Province at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
